CRIMINAL DEFENSE:

Several members of the firm each have over twenty years of intensive experience in handling all types of matters for individuals facing criminal charges. The firm provides full criminal representation for clients from bail through trial in State and Federal Trial and Appellate Courts, including felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, and traffic matters. The members of the firm over the years have tried scores of DUI jury trials to verdict and keep fully apprised of all recent developments in the law in this area. We also provide highly successful representation before the DMV in administrative hearings.

GENERAL LITIGATION PRACTICE:

Over the past twelve years the firm's litigation practice has included handling a wide variety of matters before Federal and State Trial and Appellate Courts, arbitration tribunals and administrative agencies. The firm engages in virtually every type of business, commercial, entertainment, communications and bankruptcy litigation.

The firm represents publicly owned and closely held corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships in a broad range of matters including breach of contract actions, corporate and partnership dissolution, and employment and wrongful termination disputes. Firm litigators also handle tort and insurance related matters.

The firm has successfully defended major film studios, publicity agencies, talent agencies and music companies, as well as actors, producers and directors, in a variety of matters, including contract disputes, defamation suits, intellectual property matters such as copyright and trademark matters and misappropriation of ideas, and in actions for and against agents and business managers.

REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION:

The firm handles a wide variety of real estate and construction litigation, including actions for specific performance, partnership disputes and breach of agreements to purchase and sell real property. The firm represents clients in lease controversies, brokers' commission actions and mechanics' lien and construction defect litigation.

MEDICAL AND LEGAL MALPRACTICE LITIGATION:

The firm has extensive litigation experience in medical and legal malpractice matters, including the defense representation of physicians and attorneys in all phases of civil malpractice actions. The firm has also represented clients in criminal malpractice charges.

APPELLATE LITIGATION:

The firm's broad-based appellate practice includes prosecution and defense of civil and criminal appeals and all other proceedings before the California Supreme Court, California Courts of Appeal, Federal Supreme, District and Circuit Courts, and various Federal and State administrative agencies. In addition to providing appellate services on matters for which we are trial counsel, the firm is frequently associated as appellate counsel in cases tried by other firms.

COMMERCIAL AND TRANSACTIONAL

BUSINESS MATTERS:

To further meet the legal needs of our clients, the firm provides a wide range of business and transactional services, including drafting and revision of business proposals, negotiating complex joint ventures, and the preparation of legal contracts including, but not limited to, joint venture agreements, stock security agreements, non-disclosure and non-competition agreements, notes and guarantees, licensing and distributorship agreements, work for hire contracts, and specialized sales and business agreements.

REAL ESTATE:

The firm offers legal counsel and advice with regards to real estate purchases and sales, leases, liens and encumbrances, financing transactions and foreclosures. In addition, our staff is familiar with specialized contracts recognized in the real estate field and routinely adapts each such contract to the needs of our clients. Moreover, our litigation department enforces and litigates all real estate and ancillary claims against third party individuals and entities.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION:

The firm organizes, establishes and maintains all forms of business organizations with an emphasis on California corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. It also provides Federal and State securities advice. Firm attorneys work closely with accountants to maximize benefits and tax advantages to clients, also ensuring legal compliance with the Secretary of State and other governmental agencies, as well as internally within each business entity. In order to facilitate business for our clients, our attorneys shrewdly and effectively negotiate, prepare and finalize all varieties of legal documents and agreements.
